Gaganyaan: India’s Next Giant Leap into Space

Rate this post

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) rescheduled the launch of its first test vehicle for the Gaganyaan human space flight mission by 30 minutes on Saturday, citing unfavorable weather conditions. The launch was originally scheduled for 8:00 AM IST, but was pushed back to 8:30 AM IST.

The test vehicle mission is a precursor to the Gaganyaan program, which aims to send humans into space on a low Earth orbit of 400 kilometers for three days and bring them safely back to Earth. The launch of the test vehicle is an important step in the development of the Gaganyaan program.

Gaganyaan is a challenging but achievable goal, as India has all the necessary technology and the government has already sanctioned Rs 9,000 crore for the program. Humans will inhabit the moon sooner than later, and India, a country of 1.4 billion people, cannot be left behind. ISRO is preparing to give India independent access to space for its citizens.

Gaganyaan aims to demonstrate ISRO’s capability to launch a human crew to an orbit of 400 kilometers and bring them safely back to Earth by landing in Indian sea waters.
