After the announcement that Modern Warfare 3 will feature remastered maps from Modern Warfare 2, using these maps is seen as an effective way of cutting development time and appealing to fans of older games.

WMD and Grind are two fan-favorite maps from the Black Ops series. WMD features a small three-lane map set in a nuclear research facility; Grind offers more open play on a shipping yard map.
